Reiki healing is a form of healing that originated in Japan, Reiki first started at the turn of the century, by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese doctor. Dr Usui developed his healing techniques from Buddhist teachings and as a result of extensive travels, research and meditation.

This technique of healing is also based on Sanskrit teaching. The word Reiki means “universal life energy” the energy around and within all living things. Reiki has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times; it is how people would heal themselves, when there were no doctors.

Reiki has five main principles. Just for today do not worry, just for today do not be angry, honor your parents, teachers and elders, earn your living honestly and show gratitude to every living thing.

When you train to be a Reiki teacher there are three Degree levels you need to learn. Reiki Degree one is to learn and practice on yourself and others. Reiki Degree two is a powerful form of distant healing and a technique that addresses the cause of the problem.

So how does Reiki work?
Without a life force, there is no life; you are alive because it is flowing through you. It flows around you in a field of energy called the aura. Life force energy nourishes the body and supports its vital functions.

The Reiki therapist does not direct the healing and does not decide what to work on or what to heal. They are simply a channel for the Reiki energy. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging it with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the body where the negative thoughts and feelings have attached themselves. Reiki healing causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In doing so, it clears, straightens, and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of healing that increases energy, reduces pain, produces deep relaxation and a general feeling of well-being. The energy flows through all things and is connected to the quality of health.

The existence of this energy has be verified by recent scientific experiments, and medical doctors are now considering the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system and healing process.

Reiki is a technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. The technique allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of energy that helps to improve health and enhance the quality of life.

Reiki is a simple technique to learn. Reiki is not taught in the true sense of the word; a Reiki master transfers it to the learner. Anyone can use Reiki, it is not dependent on ones intellectual capacity or spiritual development, and it is available to everyone, thousands of people, of all ages and backgrounds all over the world have learned to use Reiki.

The treatment its self feels like a warm river of love that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki treats the whole person including the body, emotions, mind and spirit. It creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki has had many miraculous results.
